Volunteer barbers providing free grooming at a MimiCares community event

Volunteer barbers, care packages and a hall full of conversation. A few moments from a MimiCares community event in Barking & Dagenham.

Our community events create welcoming spaces where people can eat, connect, have fun and feel part of their community. This one was no different.

Free grooming with volunteer barbers

We work with barbers, beauty professionals and volunteers to provide free grooming services to people who may not otherwise be able to access them. A haircut, grooming session or moment of self-care can make a meaningful difference to someone’s confidence and how they feel about themselves.

For us, grooming is not simply about appearance. It is about dignity, confidence and feeling cared for.

Care packages and essentials

Alongside the free grooming, our volunteers handed out care packages, drinks and essential items. We believe practical support matters, and that the way it is provided matters too.

Sometimes, having somewhere to go, someone to talk to and people to connect with can make a meaningful difference.

Thank you to every volunteer, barber and partner who gave their time. If you would like to be part of our next community event, get in touch.
